Washcloth Bib

Buy the cheapest washcloths you can find in the discount store, because they are nice and thin. Fold one side over 1 inch and sew it down, but leave the ends open. Thread a white shoelace through the hem. Sew some stitches through the shoelace in the middle to keep it from coming out in the wash.

Date-of-Birth Newspaper

Save the front page of your local newspaper on the date of the new baby's birth. Glue it by the corners to a piece of cardboard cut the same size. Wrap the whole thing with clear plastic and tape in the back. Attack a stick-on picture hanger to the back.
