Galloping Horses illustration

Clap your hands, then slap your thighs, first the left thigh with the left hand, then the right thigh with the right hand. Do this repeated, as fast as you can.

Explosions illustration

Find some kids who know how to make explosion sounds and tape them. Whenever you need the sounds, turn the tape recorder on loud.

Sapce Ship Arriving illustration

Have the astronauts in the play make small high quivering sounds with their voices as they "land."

Thunder and Lightning illustration

Use cymbals or shake a big piece of sheet metal for thunder offstage. Tape the edges of the sheet metal so you don't get cut.

Lost in a cave illustration

Offstage, shout into a box.

Rain illustration

Shake a piece of aluminum foil offstage.
