SPECIAL PROJECT - SPECIAL GUESTS

Invite someone special to the party, such as Santa Claus, a clown, a magician, a fortune-teller, a storyteller from the library, or a naturalist from a local zoo or nature center. The naturalist may bring wild animals to show the children. The fortune-teller may be a friend in disguise. Help her write the fortunes ahead of time. Part of the fortune might be a forfeit: "In order to hear your fortune, you must do five somersaults." If you do invite a special guest to the party, make sure the guest doesn't steal the show away from the birthday child. Don't have the person go on too long. If anyone is chosen as a helper, it should be the birthday child.
