Birthday Parties For Children

DRAW A CIRCLE ON THE OLD MAN'S BACK

Age Level: 6 and up

Number of Players: 4 or more

What is Needed: nothing

Type of Game: noncompetitive

Location: outside

HOW TO PLAY

It (the Old Man) covers his or her eyes and leans up against a tree or wall. A second child chants, while drawing a circle with a finger on Its back, "Draw a circle on the old man's back, and somebody lightly taps," then points in silence to another child. This third child steps forward and taps It on the back. It tries to guess who tapped. If It guesses correctly, the tapper becomes It. If It guesses incorrectly, everyone says, "No." Then It counts out loud to 100, eyes still closed, and the other players scatter and hide. It goes to find the other players. If It finds a player, the player must stay with It and go with It to find others. The last person found becomes the next It (Old Man).
