Beach Party Invitation

Sandwiches

Cupcakes

Ice cream (purchased at a stand or from a vendor)

Juice

Bring supplies to the beach in a Styrofoam container.

Don't forget birthday candles and matches.

DECORATIONS

Ask everyone to spread out towels near each other.

Don't bother with fancy party supplies. Just serve the food as simply as possible. Give each child money for the ice cream man.

Favors, Prizes, Items for Treat Bags

Whiffle balls, Frisbies, playing cards, kites, shovels and pails.

INSIDE GAMES (IN CASE OF RAIN), NONCOMPETITIVE

1. Fish for Presents

1. Camouflage

2. Hot Frisbie. Play like Hot Potato.

3. Beach-Ball Toss. Play like Bull's-Eye Toss.

4. Drop the Clothespins in the Bottle

OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES, NONCOMPETITIVE

1. Swimming

2. Collecting shells

3. Building sand castles. Give awards to everyone for his or her castle's particular distinction: prettiest, biggest, smallest, fanciest, simplest, the one you'd most like to live in, and so on.

OUTSIDE GAMES, COMPETITIVE

Beach Scavenger Hunt. Play like a Scavenger Hunt.

Listed items to find might be a mussel shell, a pink shell, a gold shell, seaweed, driftwood, a piece of trash, a piece of smooth sea glass, a feather, and so on. Tell the children where they can go to look for things.
