DECORATIONS

Put a white paper cloth on the table and give the children crayons or markers so they can draw a fairyland scene. Make up names for the fairyland creatures they draw and write them on the tablecloth.

Straws and gummed stars. (The children can stick the stars on the tablecloth. They can pretend the straws are magic wands and stick stars on them too.)

1. Make necklaces.

2. Make construction-paper crowns. To make a crown, cut a pointed design along a strip of construction paper. Wrap around the child's head and tape so the crown fits. Make one for each child and put his or her name on it. Decorate with gummed stars.

INSIDE GAME, COMPETITIVE

Fairyland Quiz Show. Make a list of questions ahead of time, such as "What are the names of the Seven Dwarfs?" Divide the children into two teams and give prizes to the team that gets the most correct answers. If the children want to continue playing after your questions are used up, ask them to think of more questions.

1. Hunt for Cinderella's Slipper. Hide a fancy shoe. Show the other shoe so the children know what to look for. Whoever finds the missing shoe wins.
